4luent is designed for adult learners.

The system assumes you already have a foundation of everyday life and work experience. Every lesson is organized around familiar real-world topics, allowing you to connect new language directly to experiences you already have. These existing experiences greatly accelerate learning and make the language easier to understand and remember.

A basic knowledge of the target language is also recommended before starting 4luent. Completing approximately the first 10 hours of a traditional beginner course is usually sufficient. You should be familiar with the writing system, basic pronunciation, and a small number of common words. The purpose of this preparation is simply to overcome the initial barriers of an unfamiliar language, such as a new script, unusual pronunciation, or basic reading conventions. Once these hurdles are cleared, 4luent focuses on developing practical fluency through Understand, Absorb, Recall, and Live.
